Connecting Your Data Source

Choosing your Middleware

To start generating proofs, you’ll need to select a middleware provider.

• Provably Middleware: Currently, the platform defaults to Provably Middleware, which gives you full control via a self-hosted setup.
• We’re working on a fully managed "Self-hosted" solution that requires zero setup—stay tuned for that.

Connecting a Database

Next, you can link your data source to Provably. You’ll need your database provider details and access credentials ready.

• Auto-Fill: The fastest way to connect is to paste your Connection URI. We’ll parse the details and fill out the form for you.
• Manual Entry: If you prefer, you can manually enter your Database Name, Username, Password, and Host/Port.
• Supported Providers: Select your database type (for now, the platform supports PostgreSQL connections) from the dropdown.
  

No database? No problem: If you don't have a database ready yet, we provide public databases already connected to the platform. You can use these to explore the features and test how everything works right away.

Note: This step is optional. If you’re not ready to connect your own data, just hit Set Up Later—you can always add or change your data sources later.
